The cross of Christ is the door to paradise, the trick to heaven, the downfall of this devil, the uplifting of mankind, the consolation of our imprisonment, the trophy for our freedom.” The Cross of Christ is the protector of our faith, the assurance of our expectation, and the throne of love. It is also the sign of God’s mercy and also the evidence of bias.
Abbot Rupert of Deutz, early 12th century:
A friend suggested that Good Friday has to be the best day to turn to God, or whoever you flip to. It is the day of the Crucifixion- when one Man suffered so much to meet a prophecy. I concur with her. Take some time this Great Friday to contemplate and reflect on your life. It’s a day of deep sorrow for the Agony that started at a garden on Thursday night and finished in the crucifixion on Good Friday. You can send wishes to your lovers on Good friday 2018 from our website.
We all have known heartache and pain, we’ve got love ones that are ill, our world is experiencing severe climate upheavals, political and economic chaos, to all these and more, provide fervent prayers. To God, we commit ourselves.
This Good Friday, I will meditate on surrendering all of the pain and sorrow and the bits of a broken heart. Along with this, I will do a angel ritual for the sister with Stage 4 lung cancer. She is beating the odds. She has a very strong Faith in God.
Those that are conversant with rituals, this is a good day to do one. I plan on a recovery ritual
and seek the assistance of Raphael and another ritual to the four Archangels:
Raphael- angel of healing of mind, body, soul and heart
Gabriel- angel of communication, understanding and also to attain clarity of thoughts
Michael- angel for protection against unseen and unwanted forces or energies.
Uriel- angel for light, protection, strength and love
Your guardian angel.
This can be as simple as lighting candles, put fresh plant or flowers on the dining table and importantly, think carefully about what it is you’re looking for. Prepare to get a solemn meditation in a quiet and
Peaceful place. Write down your goals for clarity. There are sites online with meditations to the Archangels for advice.
Excerpt from *Meditations for Good Friday from Ken Gardiner
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
We arrive at the closing moments of the earthly life of Christ; the most ideal human life which has ever been lived. Notice how utterly He identified with us. Everything we have to confront, somewhere Jesus confronted something similar. Hunger, thirst, exhaustion, pain, being misunderstood, deserted, denied, betrayed. Eventually he died.
Have you ever understood how amazing that is? For a moment, think only of the fact that we now have a God who knows what it’s like to die. In dying, Christ showed a deep standard principle.
